University City, Mo is a suburb of the city of St. Louis in St. Louis County. The city offers several events for residents and visitors to enjoy including concerts, yard sales, fairs and carnivals. In the early 1900’s it was purchased by a publisher by the name of Edward Gardner Lewis – he wanted to develop the area into a beautiful city. In honor of him the City Hall has several murals painted on the first and second floor ceilings depicting E.G. Lewis’ life.

University City was founded by publisher Edward Gardner Lewis, who began developing the location in 1903 around his publishing complex for Woman’s Magazine and Woman’s Farm Journal.
