We love that we get to work here in McQueeny with the fine folks of Guadalupe County. In 1877, local businessman C.F. Blumberg built a general store near Hilda, a stop on the Galveston, Harrisburg & San Antonio railroad. He hoped to curry favor by naming his area after Mr. McQueeny, a railroad official. The name has stuck until today.

McQueeny sits on the north side of Interstate 10 near the Texas Route 46 junction. Its eastern border is the Guadalupe River. This river was dammed to create Lake McQueeny and made some interesting lake-side property for the community. Route 78 and Route 725 cross one another right in the center of town.

McQueeny has lots of activities to take part in around the area. Buck’s Perch is a unique venue here in town. It is a cabin on Lake McQueeny that’s available to book for a family retreat with up to 20 people. It’s also a great spot for a wedding or photo shoot. Lake McQueeny itself is also a great destination for a day on the water or along the shore.
