Kerrville is well-known for the shingle industry going all the way back to the 1840’s when Joshua Brown first began the trade. For a while, the area was even knows as Brownsborough in his honor. Later, when James Kerr officially founded the town, the name became Kerrville.

Kerrville is right on Interstate 10, northwest of San Antonio. It is at the junction of Interstate 10 and Route 16. We’re the proud host to Schreiner University.
