As thousands of volunteers with open hearts and hands flood the debris-riddled community in the wake of recent tornados, those seeking aid are surprisingly upbeat.
Unfortunately, the blue Texas skies are being grayed by the constant fear of looting and a throng of vulture-like contractors. In the spirit of the holidays, one local garage door company is asking…
“How can we give?” rather than “What can we gain?“
The answer was clear, and the company set out to give away and install free garage doors to
any of the families in need of assistance in the wake of the tornado.
Forrest Perry, Rob Guild, Alex Juarez and Doug Fussell of Neighborhood Garage Door Service have been on site all week to support the cause. “The garage door is the largest entry way in these homes, and with so many doors damaged, looters have easy access to what’s left of these families’ belongings. These new garage doors are putting an immediate extra layer of safety to anyone in need.” Perry said.
One Garland resident, Jimmy Odom stated “To be honest, I haven’t slept since the storm for fear of looters. It’s amazing work ya’ll are doing to keep us safe.”

We can only hope that more local businesses step up however they can.”
Neighbors Helping Those in Need. It’s a Beautiful Thing!
One homeowner, Carlos Farina was full of joy as the garage door technicians secured his door. “Everybody is working together, man. It’s a beautiful thing.”
“Being here means a lot. It fills us all with hope that the world isn’t as bad as we think it is.” Neighborhood garage door installer Alex Juarez said.
Rob Guild, another garage door installer added “My dad always said if you see a need, you fill that need. If this was my house, I can’t expect or hope that people would ever help me if I don’t help others.”
“When we are called to service, we must answer that call.”
To provide further assistance to the families in need, Neighborhood Garage Door Service has reached out to two local suppliers. Amarr and Entry Products have teamed up with Neighborhood to help provide additional products for those in need.
“We are saddened by the amount of damage caused to friends, family and our neighbors homes. Our overall goal is to assist these families and secure their homes. Many thanks to our local suppliers, Amarr and Entry Products for teaming up with us to help relieve the victims of this terrible disaster.” Neighborhood’s Director of Operations Jim Ryan said.
