Commercial Point, Ohio is located in Pickaway County near Columbus, and its history began in 1829, when Wiley H. Beckett arrived from east Virginia and purchased 238 acres of land just west of present-day Commercial Point. In 1841, he laid out the town, and named it Genoa.
In 1832, a man named James H. Burnley, also from Virginia, came to the area just east of Genoa. He laid out a similar town and named it Rome. The first store in the area was established in 1844 by Wiley H. Beckett.
Genoa was incorporated in 1851, and included both Genoa and Rome together. The name was changed to Commercial Point in 1872. Commercial Point is home to Sarah Fisher, an IndyCar Series driver.

Commercial Point is a small village in the northern part of Pickaway County, Ohio. Around 1830, the twin towns of Genoa and Rome were marked out by Wiley Beckett and James Burnley, respectively. They were later merged, incorporated, and renamed Commercial Point. The town is now an active part of Pickaway County.

The township sits just off OH-104, southwest of downtown Columbus. It has easy access to the Rickenbacker International Airport as well.
